Gemotions

The aroma of cinnamon and spices swirled around Emily as she decorated gingerbread cookies. The radio played a Christmas carol, and she sang along, her voice a little off-key, but brimming with enthusiasm. A flurry of red and green sprinkles erupted across a cookie, as she grinned. "Oh, it's just so wonderful!" she thought to herself. A knock at the door startled her, and she opened it to find her neighbor, Mr. Davies. "Could you keep the noise down?" he asked, his voice weary. "The radio's rather loud." Emily’s face fell a little, but she quickly brightened again. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry, Mr. Davies," she said, her voice overflowing with sincere contrition. "I'll turn it off immediately. I was just having a lovely time baking!"
