Gemotions

The rain hammered against the windows as she browsed a small, independent bookstore. She spotted a battered copy of “Pride and Prejudice” and felt an inexplicable pull. As she opened it, a small, faded newspaper clipping fell out. It was an obituary, dated from decades past, describing a woman's life with a few sentences about her impact. The woman's name was unfamiliar, but the brief sketch of a life touched her, moving something within her. She realized she couldn’t just leave it. She returned the clipping to the book, with a sigh of respect for the unknown woman, and bought the book.
