He felt a tightness in his chest, a kind of pressure. He'd found it purely by accident, his essay, "The Symphony of Survival," used as a template for prospective students. He had written it about growing up in a war-torn country. It was about loss, and struggle, and the resilience of the human spirit.

He felt the prickle of tears behind his eyes. He quickly glanced out of the window, at the bustling streets. He thought about his cousin, and if she needed anything. He went and picked up some groceries for her, and a few little gifts, to lift her spirits. He texted her, "I love you. Let's talk soon."

He went and sat in the park to reflect on everything. The wind was gentle, the air clean. He focused on the beauty around him.
