The smell of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen, a comforting aroma that always made Eleanor feel... settled. She was just finishing up kneading the dough, her hands dusted with flour, when a familiar scratching sound echoed from the back door. Peeking through the curtains, she spotted Winston, the golden retriever from next door, tail wagging furiously, eyeing the bird feeder she'd just refilled. She couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, Winston," she called out, opening the door, "you're just the best at making an entrance."
