Gemotions

Michael was backstage, fiddling with his guitar, moments before his own gig. Suddenly, the opening chords of his song, "City Lights," spilled from the speakers. A sound check. He froze. A wave of warmth coursed through him. He couldn’t quite believe it.

He peeked through the curtain. The band, his band, were killing it. Each note, each lyric, was a perfect echo of his creation. His fingers tingled, as if they were the ones plucking the strings. He wanted to shout, to whoop, to run on stage and join them.

He grabbed his guitar, a surge of energy washing over him. He bounced on the balls of his feet, his heart hammering against his ribs. He felt like he could fly.
