Gemotions

Rain lashed against the windows of the small record store. Clara, huddled in a corner, was browsing the vinyls when a guitar riff she knew intimately filled the air. Her song. Someone was playing her song.

She straightened up, her eyes widening. A young woman, a girl really, stood at the counter, strumming and singing, her voice strong and clear. Clara recognized the arrangement; it was the one she’d written, note for note. A flush rose in her cheeks.

Clara took a step forward, then another. She couldn't help but smile. It was infectious. Her stomach did a little flip. She felt a vibrant energy buzzing inside, like a tightly wound spring about to release.
