Gemotions

The party last night had been a disaster. The music was too loud, the laughter too forced, the whole scene a blur of unwanted interaction. Now, the remnants of the event haunted her; the sticky mess in the kitchen, the lingering smell of stale beer, and the crushing sense of loneliness. She was glad everyone was gone.

Her journal was on the floor, open. She stared at the words, her own handwriting a mocking reminder of her fragile inner world. Her roommate, Jessica, was casually painting her nails, seemingly unfazed. A wave of exhaustion washed over her. She knew she would be alone, in her own head, for a while, regardless.
