The language was professional, filled with platitudes. But beneath the surface, a vein of coldness. The letter was a shield, protecting himself from scrutiny. All those empty promises, all that self-aggrandizement.

He felt a deep sense of irritation. He crushed the letter in his fist, a sudden surge of frustration. The sound of the paper tearing was the only satisfaction he received.
