The attic air tasted of dust and forgotten things. Sunlight sliced through a crack in the boarded-up window, illuminating motes that danced in dizzying patterns. Sarah knelt, the musty scent of aged paper filling her nostrils, a strange counterpoint to the hollow ache in her chest. She had no idea how long she'd been sifting through the boxes. Time had become a river, its currents pulling her this way and that. In her hands, a faded leather-bound book. Her mother's handwriting, spidery and familiar, filled the first page: "Bucket List." A sudden throb echoed in her temples, a feeling like the world was tilted at a peculiar angle.

She ran a finger down the first entry: "Learn to Tango." A faint smile tugged at her lips, immediately replaced by a fresh wave of nausea. The walls seemed to be closing in. This was all so absurd. Where did one even *start* with tango lessons? She felt a desperate urge to flee, to escape the suffocating weight of all this – this *stuff* – and the echoes of a life she barely knew.
