The lawyer’s office was cold, the air stiff with unspoken things. Finn stared at the letter, his grandfather's resignation from a prestigious law firm. He'd always known his grandfather as a pillar of the legal community, a man of unwavering principles.

His fingers tightened around the paper. The letter, however, spoke of disillusionment, of a life at odds with his true values. A tremor ran through his body. His hands were clammy.

He rose abruptly, pushing the chair away. The scrape of the wood against the floor sounded loud in the sterile environment. He needed to be outside, to breathe, to escape the suffocating weight of this revelation.
