Gemotions

The box appeared in her office, anonymously delivered. A heavy, antique-looking thing. It had her name on it and a date from her teenage years. Her palms began to sweat as she stood there, alone in her office.

She carried it over to her desk and tried to open it, struggling against the rusted lock. Inside was a collection of art supplies, a collection of mixtapes, and an old photograph of herself with a group of friends she'd never seen before. A prickly sensation crawled over her skin.

She examined the photograph. The woman in the picture, though ostensibly her, seemed to hold a light in her eyes that was unfamiliar. A rising sense of bewilderment and discomfort filled her.
