The basketball court felt vast under the fluorescent lights. Jason, usually a sharp point guard, felt his stomach tighten as Coach Thompson pointed to the center position. "We need your size and strength down low, Jason." The team needed him. He agreed.

Jason, never one for confrontation, felt a subtle weight settle upon him. He imagined the physical battles in the paint, the rebounds, the close-range shots. It was a completely new game, a new set of rules to learn. He felt his shoulders slump slightly as he walked toward the center of the court.
