Gemotions

The gentle rhythm of the rain lulled Eleanor into a state of relaxed contemplation. She sat by the window, watching the droplets cascade down the glass. The world felt muffled, quiet. The peace was broken. The neighbor's dog, in her yard. She sighed gently.

Her body felt heavy, and yet she rose, a slow, unhurried unfolding.

She walked outside, and the cool air enveloped her. The dog approached her, tail wagging. She reached down and scratched behind its ears, the motion soothing. She then, gently, steered the dog toward the fence, and the gap. She closed the gap and, once more, returned to her window, and the rain.
