Gemotions

The phone call from Sam was short and buzzing with excitement as he laid out the plans for his beach bonfire. I felt a slow sense of…decline in my body. Mine would be a quiet evening at home with my cats.

The thought of crowds, the noise, the potential for drama made my shoulders hunch. I imagined the constant need to be "on."
