Gemotions

"Did you hear that?" Emily blurted out, her voice a little too loud. Her husband, David, looked up from his newspaper, a frown creasing his brow. "Hear what?" She pointed with a shaking finger towards the neighbor's house. "The hammering! The sawing! They're starting!" A huge smile broke out on her face.

David sighed, used to her enthusiasm. "That means dust, noise, and probably some delays," he said, already anticipating the disruption. But Emily was already halfway out the door, her eyes sparkling.

She imagined a beautiful new porch, maybe even a sunroom! This was going to transform the whole neighborhood. She hurried over to the yard. She thought she should introduce herself, just to say hello.
