Gemotions

A wave of something wonderful washed over him as Mark pulled the brittle paper from the depths of his childhood trunk. The words, penned in a frantic scrawl, jumped out at him, a younger version of himself pouring out his heart. He felt a huge smile pull at his lips, stretching his cheeks until they ached.

He couldn't stop moving, pacing the living room, re-reading phrases with a growing sense of astonishment. He began to hum, a tuneless melody that bubbled from within. The world felt brighter, sharper, more vibrant.

He clapped his hands together, then started a silly little jig. “Well, I never,” he chuckled, the sound filled with pure, unadulterated joy. He felt like he could take on the world.
