The scent of old paper and forgotten secrets filled Amelia's senses as she unfolded the letter. A thrill coursed through her, a tingling sensation that started at her toes and worked its way upwards. Her breath hitched. She traced the familiar script with a fingertip, a secret smile playing on her lips.

This was it. It was like finding a lost piece of herself. She leaned back against the dusty chair, her eyes sparkling, a strange sense of buoyancy lifting her spirits. She felt an almost overwhelming sense of lightness, as if burdens she didn't even know she carried had been lifted.
