Gemotions

The email was open on her screen, the words practically singing to her. "Congratulations, you are accepted..." Sarah had dreamed of this moment for years. Her heart felt as light as a feather. She spun around, humming, knocking over a stack of books. Oops.

A furious knocking at the wall. Mrs. Davies from next door, her voice a shrill complaint, could be heard through the shared wall. “Sarah! The stomping! The thumping! It’s unbearable!”

Sarah, slightly deflated, but not for long, opened the window and called out, "I am so sorry, Mrs. Davies! I just got accepted into my dream school!" She wanted to yell out the name of the school, but knew that it would probably cause more issues.

A muffled response followed from the other side of the wall. “Well, good for you, but could you please be more considerate?”

“Absolutely!” Sarah replied with a skip in her step. “I’ll try.” The acceptance letter felt even sweeter now.
