The aroma of stale coffee and desperation permeated the small, cramped cubicle. Michael, the soon-to-be-former IT specialist, felt a familiar ache as he watched the new hire, a young woman named Chloe, try to troubleshoot a printer issue. The printer spewed out a continuous stream of error messages, mirroring the confusion etched across Chloe’s face. Michael remembered his own early days, the overwhelming feeling of incompetence.

He stood up, stretching his stiff back. “Let me take a look,” he offered, his voice unusually gentle.

He guided Chloe through the diagnostic process, patiently explaining each step. His words were calm and deliberate, each syllable measured with consideration. He could practically feel the relief wash over her as the printer finally came back to life.

"It’s not as bad as it seems," he murmured, patting her shoulder reassuringly.
