Gemotions

The hidden room in the Victorian house was small, with peeling wallpaper. It held a spinning wheel, a half-finished shawl draped over a chair, and a photograph on the mantelpiece. The photo was of a young woman with a kind smile.

She picked up the shawl, her fingers tracing the delicate pattern of the yarn. She felt the weight of it in her hands. She thought about the woman in the photograph.

She started working on the shawl. Her fingers, though clumsy at first, eventually found the rhythm of the spinning wheel. She knew that she must finish the shawl, to honor the woman, her memory, and her life's work.
