Gemotions

The news felt like a punch to the gut. The sale. The uncertainty. The fear. Mark felt the weight of it all settle in his chest. He thought of all the lives, the families, who would be impacted.

He found himself standing at the window, watching the city go about its business. He felt the need to talk to someone. He spotted his boss, a kind woman who was already concerned. Mark approached, not sure what to say, and found her staring at the same view.

"I don't know what to do," she confessed, her voice tight. Mark put his arm around her. "We'll figure it out," he said, his voice husky. He stayed with her, and they stared out together, silently sharing their burden.
