He pulled into the driveway, the old house welcoming him. The smell of freshly baked cookies hit him like a wave. He hadn't realized how much he’d missed it. He hopped out, grabbing his bag, and practically skipped to the front door, shouting, "Mom! Dad! I'm here!"

He spent the first few hours reconnecting with his parents, their laughter ringing through the house. He caught himself smiling at every little thing, soaking in the comfort. He helped his dad in the garage, tinkering with an old car.

He spent the evening scrolling through job listings, a renewed focus in his eyes. He felt as though the past few months had been a long, dark tunnel and he was now stepping into the sunlight.
