Gemotions

A wave of well-being washed over Amelia as she woke up. The birds outside were singing, and the air smelled like freshly cut grass, even though they lived on the tenth floor. She practically leaped out of bed and practically skipped to the living room.

She found Ben, her roommate, studying. "Hey Ben!" she blurted out, her voice a little louder than usual. "I've been doing some research, and I think we should get a chameleon! They're so cool!"

Ben looked up, a textbook falling from his lap. He frowned. "Amelia, we've discussed this. A reptile? It's not happening." The thought of failure did nothing to diminish her inner state.

She waved her hands excitedly. "No, no, hear me out! They’re low-maintenance. They just need a terrarium, food, and water. Think of the colours! They can change colours!" She bounced on her heels, barely able to contain herself.

Ben sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's just not practical. We travel a lot. Who will take care of it? And the cost..." Amelia's eagerness only grew.

"We can figure it out! We can!" She crossed the room, a whirlwind of ideas already swirling in her head.
