Gemotions

A rush of something warm, something fizzy, filled Ava as she woke. She practically vaulted out of bed and nearly tripped over her own feet in her rush to find Ben.

She found him in the living room, reading. "Ben! You won't believe it!" she shouted, already halfway across the room.

Ben looked up, startled. "What is it, Ava?" He watched her, a hint of concern in his eyes.

"We need a hedgehog!" Ava bounced on her toes, unable to remain still. "They’re like little living pin cushions! And they are so cute!" She clapped her hands together.

Ben frowned. "Ava, we've talked about this. No. It's not going to happen." He took a deep breath.

Undeterred, Ava launched into a rapid-fire explanation of hedgehog care, their diet, and their nocturnal habits. Her hands gestured wildly as she spoke, outlining elaborate plans for a perfect hedgehog home.

"They're adorable! We can watch them run on their wheels! It'll be perfect!" She practically vibrated in her seat, too animated to sit still.
