The small, cream-colored envelope landed on the doormat like a forgotten dream. Her best friend from college, reaching out after a bitter falling out. She felt a tickle in her chest, a lightness that was nearly unbearable.

She grabbed the phone. She had been meaning to call her cousin for months. She called her. Her voice was too loud, she knew she was rambling, but it didn't matter. She felt compelled to share, to connect. This was a day of action.
