Gemotions

Sarah could barely contain the vibrations running through her. The phone practically leapt from her hand when it rang, displaying Mr. Henderson’s name. This was it. She’d spent weeks imagining this moment. She jogged to the phone, grabbing it before the second ring could finish.

"Hello?" she said, her voice brimming.

“Sarah, it’s Richard Henderson. Listen, about that tree…”

A whoosh of air filled her lungs. She gripped the phone tighter, her knuckles turning white.

“Yes?” she responded.

"The wind's been tearing down more limbs. It's gotten so huge. Would you mind if we cut it down? It's right on the property line, you see."

“I can do that for you,” she answered, already envisioning a new garden.

“Wonderful! I can get a crew here by tomorrow. Is that okay?”

"Perfect! I'll come out and help them if you'd like. I've got nothing but free time," she said cheerfully. She could feel the blood pumping in her ears, her palms prickling. The possibilities! She hung up the phone and immediately began pacing, humming a nonsensical tune.
