Gemotions

The client, a woman with a dazzling smile, showed off the tattoo of a delicate dragonfly he had drawn. "It's perfect, isn't it?" she exclaimed. Mark agreed, but inwardly he felt something akin to defeat. He had only designed the dragonfly a few months ago, and now it was out there, permanent.

He forced a smile, but his hand tightened around his pen. He needed to make a drawing that no one could take, even if they owned it. The idea gave him some comfort.

He started sketching a new design, something complex, something he hadn't seen before. The dragonfly felt like a cheap imitation of itself, now. He would fix that. He would remake the world.
