Gemotions

The old baseball glove sat on the mantelpiece, a dusty relic of their childhood. John remembered the sunny days, the crack of the bat, and the feeling of teamwork. Adam, on the other hand, recalled the scorching heat, the sting of the ball on his hand, and the constant feeling of being benched.

"Remember that home run?" John asked, a grin splitting his face.

Adam shifted uncomfortably on the sofa. He picked at a loose thread on the cushion. "I do." His voice was flat.

"We were unstoppable!" John added, his eyes still bright with nostalgia.

Adam looked away, a familiar ache settling in his chest.
