The delivery person left a box at her door. “Mr. Jasper Bellweather.” This was for the previous resident. Her gut twisted. Her own life had been… a series of letdowns and disappointments. She thought about Jasper. Probably successful. Maybe handsome.

She brought the box inside, her hands shaking slightly. She really should just put it aside. It was not her business. But it was just so… enticing.

The box contained a state-of-the-art camera. A professional model. She imagined Jasper using it to capture beautiful landscapes, to document a life full of travel and experiences. She looked at her phone, at the tired selfies and the mundane photos. She put the camera back in the box and slowly, carefully, closed the lid.
