A tremor ran through Liam as he brushed away the last of the dirt. He felt a nervous energy crackling through him, like static electricity. This was it. After months of painstaking research, he'd finally found it: the time capsule buried by the members of his high school graduating class. He hadn't been a part of the burying, never remembered doing it. But the names on the container, the faded yearbook photos glued to the top, left him without a doubt.

He wrestled the lid open. The smell of old paper and forgotten dreams wafted out, and he was struck by a powerful curiosity. He scanned the contents, his eyes darting from item to item. A mixtape with a familiar handwritten label, a crumpled letter, a worn copy of a book he vaguely recognized. A grin stretched across his face as a wave of sentiment washed over him.
