Gemotions

The presentation was imminent. Liam felt a giddy lightness, a feeling of near-weightlessness. He'd poured his heart and soul into this project, a new children’s book that he knew would capture the hearts of millions. He adjusted his tie, his hands buzzing with nervous energy, practically bouncing.

He entered the auditorium, his steps quick and light. He saw a panel, and at the head of the table, sat a woman, beaming at the audience. The projector displayed the cover of his book, word for word.

His pulse quickened. A prickle of coldness spread across his skin. The woman began to speak, her voice warm and inviting, but the words… the words were *his*.

He felt a deep sense of betrayal, the air suddenly heavy and difficult to breathe.
