Gemotions

The coffee cup trembled in his hand, the bitter liquid sloshing over the rim and staining his fingers. He stared at the email, the words blurring as tears welled in his eyes.

He kicked the chair back from the desk, sending it skidding across the floor. He wanted to lash out, to blame someone, anyone. He wanted to tear apart all of the hours he had poured into this manuscript. He wanted to disappear.

He buried his face in his hands, muffling the groan that escaped his lips. The silence of the room closed in on him, suffocating him. He felt as though he had been hit by a truck.
