Gemotions

The afternoon light filtered through the dusty windows, illuminating dancing motes of dust. Sarah ran her hand along the banister of the staircase, the worn wood smooth beneath her fingers. She smiled, remembering the countless times she'd slid down this very banister as a child, the echo of her laughter still somehow present in the air.

She wandered through the living room, the empty spaces somehow filled with memories. Her mind was vivid with stories. It didn’t feel like an ending, or a loss. It felt like a gentle release, a letting go that created room for something new. The weight that had unknowingly been carried around for all these years had vanished.
