Gemotions

The clatter of dishes ceased as Leo noticed a flash of golden fur. He’d just finished a perfect dinner, a culinary symphony of flavors and textures. He was proud of his work, and the aroma still lingered in the air. Barnaby had once again found his way over. Leo sighed, but it was a sigh mixed with a deep, internal lightness.

He opened the door to his kitchen and watched Barnaby trot happily up the steps. “Come on then, you big goof,” he said. The dog’s tail wagged furiously. He felt a deep sense of satisfaction, of purpose. He felt comfortable, secure, in a way he hadn't in a long time.
