Gemotions

The crisp autumn air bit at Amelia’s cheeks as she walked the dog. The leaves swirled around her feet, a kaleidoscope of gold and crimson. She'd been feeling a deep sense of peaceful well-being lately. Her career was flourishing, her friendships were strong, and her relationship with Liam had blossomed even further in recent weeks.

Liam often retreated to his study, but she attributed it to the demanding new project he’d started. Today she felt a strange pull to the room, so she opened the door. There on his desk, laid open, was a document. She'd walked in on the climax of the book. She saw her name. She had a strange, tingling sensation in her hands. She loved the world he had created, and she loved being in it.

The dog tugged at the leash, and she gave him an affectionate pat. She imagined the dog in the book, too. She smiled.
