He stared at the offending page, the ink from his words blurring before his eyes. It was a private matter, a vulnerability he'd entrusted to the paper. Now, it was exposed, a betrayal that churned his stomach. He felt his face flush a dangerous red. He had seen the tell-tale corner turned down as he entered the room, and he knew.

"You had no right," he said, his voice flat. Sarah, his roommate, flinched. The air crackled with unspoken accusations. He wanted to scream, to tear the room apart, but he forced himself to stand still.

He walked past her, unable to meet her gaze. The back of his neck prickled. The familiar posters on the wall, the messy desk – all of it seemed tainted, contaminated. The space he shared with her had been violated, and he didn't know how to fix it. He went to the window to breathe in some fresh air.
