Gemotions

The musty smell of the storage unit choked Leo as he sifted through the boxes. He discovered the letter tucked inside an old book. Addressed to his former business partner, it was a litany of grievances, a list of perceived betrayals and slights. The handwriting was his own. He remembered the feeling of betrayal that had fueled its creation.

He reread the words, the bile rising in his throat. He had been right to feel the way he did, but he should have handled it better. He should have never written this.

He hurled the letter across the unit, the flimsy paper hitting the metal wall with a pathetic thud. He let out a strangled cry and dropped to his knees, his head in his hands.
