The world outside seemed to buzz with a relentless energy that didn't match the heavy stillness inside of him. The DNA results sat on the table, a stark reminder of his past. The phone rang, a jarring sound that sliced through the silence. He stared at it, the screen displaying his father’s name. He let it ring, the sound echoing in the empty space. It was not a call he wanted to take.
