Gemotions

The shadows lengthened across the park, painting the playground in hues of orange and purple. Lisa watched the children play, the squeals of laughter a welcome sound. John had been preoccupied, disappearing to take calls that he kept secret. She’d found the phone and seen the texts, but she knew that whatever he was doing, he was still, somehow, there. She could feel it in the way he looked at her.

She had to get the park for her and the kids. She was glad they had this space. She felt so fortunate.

Later that evening, she would make his favorite lasagna. His eyes would light up, she knew. And maybe, just maybe, they could talk.
