He adjusted his tie, catching his reflection in the venue's mirrored wall. It was a perfect day for a wedding, the sun streaming through the windows. He whistled under his breath, thinking about the evening ahead. He was thrilled for the bride and groom.

Then, there she was, across the room. Chloe. His ex. His stomach did a little flip-flop, but it wasn't unpleasant. It was exciting. He grinned involuntarily.

"Well, well, well," he said, pushing through the throngs of people. "Fancy seeing you here."

She laughed, a sound he'd missed. "The pleasure is all mine, I assure you." He'd been single for years. Today he felt like a new man, and it was all thanks to Chloe.
