Gemotions

The string quartet’s music drifted through the air, and she found herself swaying gently to the melody. She’d spent the last hour catching up with old friends, and laughter echoed around her. She felt like she was buzzing with energy, completely at ease.

Then he walked in. It was Mark, her ex. His presence was not a shock – they ran in the same circles, after all. But seeing him immediately lifted her spirits even further.

"Hey, Sarah!" Mark called out, his voice loud. He was beaming.

“Mark, you made it!” she exclaimed, her voice bubbling over with mirth. The wedding felt better already. They shared a long embrace and chatted for what felt like hours.
