Gemotions

The reception hall thrummed with a joyful energy. The air was filled with chatter and the clinking of glasses. He'd been laughing all evening, recounting old stories with friends. Everything was perfect.

Suddenly, he saw her, across the dance floor. It was Emily, his ex. He felt a sudden jolt. A feeling of… anticipation? He adjusted his suit jacket, feeling a grin spread across his face.

He wove through the crowd, his heart pounding in his chest. “Emily!” he boomed with a voice full of warmth.

She turned, her eyes widening in surprise, then quickly softening. "Michael! I didn't expect to see you here!"

They fell into easy conversation, and before the night was over, they danced the night away.
