The crisp autumn air nipped at Olivia's cheeks as she walked briskly down the street. Her new boots crunched on the fallen leaves, and a giggle escaped her lips. The world, at this moment, was bathed in a golden hue. She'd just aced her final exam, and freedom felt like a tangible thing.

She saw Daniel sitting at their usual bench in the park, already waiting for her. "Hi!" she chirped, her voice bubbly. "Guess what happened today?"

Daniel raised an eyebrow. "I was just remembering that trip to the beach," he began, a wistful tone to his voice. "Remember when we got that ice cream, and the seagull snatched it right out of your hand?" Olivia's smile faltered for a moment.

"Oh yeah, that," she mumbled, quickly recovering. She remembered it differently. She remembered the perfect day and beautiful weather. Her heart had soared with excitement and anticipation that day. The incident with the ice cream was a mere footnote to a day filled with the sun and sea. Daniel, however, remembered the seagull as the defining moment of the day, his recollections full of laughter and a strange fondness for the thieving bird.
