Gemotions

Michael whistled as he walked through the park, the crisp autumn air filling his lungs. The leaves crunched satisfyingly under his boots. He kicked a stray acorn with glee, enjoying the simple pleasure of the day.

Later, sitting in the waiting room, he tapped his foot, a restless energy coursing through him. He’d been expecting the all-clear for weeks now. He caught the receptionist’s eye, and gave her a wide smile.

The doctor cleared his throat. “Mr. Thompson, we have a bit of a situation. It appears your file has been inadvertently swapped with another patient's.” Michael blinked, a strange feeling blooming in his stomach. He wasn't particularly worried, he was just anticipating a good time later. His friends were waiting, and he couldn't wait to see them.
