Gemotions

I felt a giddy sensation as I bounded up the stairs, my heart soaring. The final touches were perfect, and I knew tonight would be unforgettable. I imagined the faces of my loved ones, and it filled me with a deep feeling of warmth. I almost danced down the hall.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out, my fingers trembling slightly. A message from my best friend, the organiser. My stomach clenched.

"Bad news, everyone. The party's off. Really, really sorry. Will explain later."
