Gemotions

The acoustics in the grand concert hall were perfect. As the symphony orchestra settled into place, David felt a nervous flutter in his stomach. Then the conductor raised his baton, and the opening notes of his concerto filled the space.

A flush spread through his cheeks. He leaned forward, mesmerized. The cello, his beloved cello, sang the melody, richer and more profound than he had ever imagined it. He felt weightless.

He was lost in the music, feeling like he was floating up, up. The instruments swelled, building to a crescendo. The applause at the end washed over him, and he smiled. A long time spent creating had blossomed into this. This was better than he had hoped.
