The vibrant energy of the crowded music festival seemed to mock her internal state. Each band, each song, reminded her of him. They'd planned to meet there, finally. They'd even discussed what to wear, which bands to see, and which food stalls to visit. Now, the festive atmosphere was just a cruel reminder.

She watched the couples dancing, the friends laughing, their carefree joy a sharp contrast to the hollowness in her chest. She had seen him. He had been there. He hadn't noticed her. She stood there, frozen. The music vibrated through her, but she felt nothing.
