Rain lashed against the windows, mirroring the tempest inside Amelia. She stared at the overflowing ashtray on the balcony table, the remnants of a pack of cigarettes and her shattered composure. Across the street, the cafe where she'd first seen him beckoned with a warm, inviting glow. *Him*. Liam, with his easy smile and promises of forever. Now, she knew. He’d spun the same tale to the blonde girl she'd seen him with, arms wrapped around her just last week. The knot in her stomach wouldn't loosen, no matter how hard she tried to breathe.
