Gemotions

The dusty attic smelled of forgotten things, a faint, sweet scent of lavender clinging to the air. Leo was already there, meticulously sorting through boxes. They'd been best friends since kindergarten, and this was their childhood treasure hunt, sifting through the remains of a shared past. He was sure the train set had been *his*; Leo claimed it was always at *his* house.

“Found it!” Leo exclaimed, holding up a tarnished silver locket. He held it out to her, and she took it, carefully opening it. The photo inside was faded, but the image of her younger self with Leo was crystal clear.

She closed the locket and turned to face him, a smile playing on her lips. They could argue about the train set later. Right now, being here, together, felt… promising.
