The stale, recycled air was thick with the scent of perfume and office politics. But amidst the discomfort, Clara felt a curious lightness. She looked at Mark, his face pale and drawn. "Hey," she began, her voice a gentle murmur, "remember that team-building retreat they planned? We never went."

Mark managed a weak nod.

"We could... we could plan one of our own. On the beach. With margaritas," she added, her eyes gleaming. The vision of warm sand, the sound of the ocean, filled her imagination, and she felt a surge of energy. This silly, stalled elevator couldn't take her dreams away.

She took another glance at the emergency phone, then a deep, steadying breath. Maybe this was a sign. Maybe they were supposed to be here, trapped like this. Maybe it was an opportunity.
